Custom Forged Shapes
All Metals & Forge Group can produce many custom shapes based on your forging drawing or finished part print. These custom shapes include, but are not limited to conical shapes, valve bodies, nozzles, girth flanges and other shapes from open die forging, drawn over mandrel forgings, upset forging, cogging, and rolled ring forgings.
Custom Forging Process
All custom shape forgings produced by All Metals & Forge Group are rough machined to provide a 250 RMS, or rough machined surface, to reduce the wear on finish machine tooling. Forgings are also ultrasonically tested according to the applicable ASTM, AMS, ASME, NACE, SAE, AISI or other specification. Other testing may include liquid dye penetrant testing, or physical property testing for tensile, yield, elongation and reduction of area properties.
All Metals & Forge Group can also provide heat treating for the custom shapes using various cooling and tempering practices to modify the properties of the forging, commonly known as annealing case hardening, precipitation strengthening, also known as precipitation hardening, and quenching and tempering.
All Metals & Forge Group, as an ISO 9001:2008 and AS 9100:2009 Rev.C certified forging manufacturer, has a vast inventory (300 alloys & grades) on the floor which will aid you in the quickest deliveries, high quality and extremely competitive products!
