General Characteristics of Magnesium AZ80A
Magnesium AZ80A performs well for extrusions and formings that resist creep and demand high fatigue strength. Stronger than AZ61A-F, AZ80A possesses an excellent machinability rating and can be readily heat treated.

Heat Treatment of Magnesium AZ80A
- T5 temper: Heat at 350°F (177°C) for 16 hours before air cooling
- T6 temper: Heat at 750°F (399°C) for four hours before air cooling; then reheat for 16 hours at 350°F (177°C) before air cooling
