Steel Weights

This calculator allows you to determine the approximate weight of your raw material using the density factor for the metal family selected and the dimensions of the shape (round bar, flat bar, square bar, hex bar, octagon bar, sheet, strip, plate, pipe, tubing, wire, rings, hubs, discs, shafts, step shafts (flanges), blocks, sleeves, or cylinders).

To use this calculator, select the Metal Family from the dropdown list, then the shape, then the unit of measure (U.S. standard or metric). Enter the number of pieces and then all the dimensional information. This Java applet will immediately calculate the results.

The results displayed by this calculator are for estimating purposes only, and should not be used or relied upon for material specification or design. www.steelforge.com, All Metals & Forge LLC, and its owners shall be held harmless from any and all liability for loss or damage arising from any inaccuracy or omission in the calculations or information obtained from this calculator.
